Test Methodology:

In this test we excite the DAC with a 1KHz impulse train at -3dBFS and observe the impulse response on a scope for each of the seven different reconstruction filters available in the DAC settings menu.

Test Results:

• Fast roll-off, linear phase filter
• Slow roll-off, linear phase filter
• Fast roll-off, minimum phase filter
• Slow roll-off, minimum phase filter
• Apodizing, fast roll-off, linear phase filter
• Hybrid, fast roll-off, minimum phase filter
• Brickwall filter

Conclusion:

In this test we reduced the resolution from 24 bit to Red-book 16 bit standard and observe the resulting spectrum which we can see is still very clean with any of the artifacts still below the threshold  of hearing.
