Hi David,
can you explain how to use room correction (in this case Dirac live) on the PC connected with UPP?
Many thanks

I'm still waiting on reply from Dirac for a PC version of their room correction software. They told me they were going to have a version that runs on a PC but I haven't seen it yet. Seems they are more invested in protecting their OEM customers.

Failing that there are other packages like Audiolense and Accourate which work with convolutioon filters which is probably similar to Dirac.

Because these run on a PC you would need the UPP and use the 8-channel USB interface connected to a PC running the convolution filter and switch on the loop-through mode in the preamp.

Dirac live latest version: 3.0.14 but I have no idea if the usb works with UPP

Hi David,
if you let me know which driver needs to be selected on Dirac to interface with UPP, I try to ask

If you are the using loop-through mode on the UPP then it needs to support the 8-ch Xmos USB device although not all 8 input/output channels are used in loop-through mode as it is only 2-input and 2-output used for this application.

More info on the driver here https://www.diyinhk.com/shop/driverdatasheetmanual/109-diyinhk-usb-audio-driver-full-version-and-signed-.html

From what I understand Dirac Live seems to be an app that runs on a PC that communicates with the hardware that is actually running Dirac and processing the audio info. It then displays all of the frequency responses and correction responses on the PC display. What you need is the actual audio processing part of it that runs on a PC. Not sure if it exists yet but they told me once they were looking into it but their OEM customers were a higher priority.
