The DUNTECH PCL25 Loudspeaker has been designed for the discerning listener who demands very accurate sound reproduction from a small package. And at an affordable price. The PCL25 is faithful to the design philosophies that encompass all DUNTECH loudspeakers, and for which Duntech Audio has received international acclaim. The technology is further enhanced by hand-crafted cabinets, which are finished in authentic timber veneer with acoustically transparent black grille cloth. What makes the PCL25 better? The DUNTECH PCL25 Loudspeaker is a two way, three driver design in which the drivers are arranged in a symmetrical fashion along a vertical axis. This creates a simulated point-source radiation pattern. To achieve proper stereo-imaging and depth, loudspeakers must possess point-source radiation patterns when reproducing music recorded by microphones, which are themselves point-source devices. Music as is should be heard The sound from the PCL25 will arrive at your ears simultaneously. It will be low in distortion and sound extremely well-focussed, giving an almost transparent quality. So, the music you hear will create the feeling of "being there", as if your were hearing it played "live". This is the ultimate benefit of DUNTECH pulse coherent technology... excellent stereo-imaging, depth and clarity. And, when you consider the price of the PCL25 and the inclusion of a 5 year warranty, it all adds up to a remarkable loudspeaker package. Time-aligned for greater music accuracy The three drivers in the PCL25 are accurately time-aligned. This means the radiating centres of the drivers are exactly equidistant at the normal listening distance of 3.5 metres. Accurate time-alignment of the drivers is one of a number of design features that Duntech has collectively labelled "pulse-coherent". Pulse coherency determines the ability of a loudspeaker to reproduce complex musical sounds without blurring or smearing. It allows a loudspeaker to faithfully reproduce sound as it is heard naturally by the human ear. |

The Emerald is the flagship of the Gemstone Series. For the first time we have incorporated several different design techniques into a single unit which delivers what we believe is a new benchmark in quality sound reproduction. Handcrafted cabinets made from the finest Australian and imported timbers house new and innovative design ideas. Each Emerald is made as a pair from start to finish, no "production line" techniques are employed in it's assembly. Every component is tested and ensured of meeting the quality required before being applied. The sound qualities of the Emerald are apparent from the first audition. "Inspiring". "Awesome", "Delicate yet Powerful" are just some of the comments made by our critical listening panel when first hearing the speaker. Highs are crystal clear, the midrange is clean and very detailed and the bass powerful, extended and fast. We admit that the Emerald may not be for everyone. Everybody has their own likes and dislikes, but if you are looking for a high quality, high reliability, very carefully engineered loudspeaker from one of the best known and respected loudspeaker manufacturers then the Emerald may well be the speaker for you. Let your ears make the decision. The Emerald is the culmination of over a year of research and design. It incorporates many technically excellent design principles, which are rarely brought together into a single design. The Emerald is a three way loudspeaker using Damped Polymer Composite (DPC) magnetically shielded drivers. These drivers use low loss rubber surrounds to eliminate the possibility of deterioration over time. The heart of the drivers, including the tweeter, utilise Hexatech Aluminium wire voice coils wound on Aluminium formers, this provides superior power handling and eliminates dynamic compression due to heating. The midrange drivers have a huge 75mm voice coil which evenly drives the shallow profile cone, reducing cone break up and reducing distortion at high power levels. The tweeter is a hand treated soft dome type which is driven by a large diameter voice coil, immersed in low viscosity Ferrofluid. It also incorporates three powerful magnets for high efficiency and to maintain linear response at all power levels. the bass response of the Emerald is powerful and extended due to the complex techniques used to load the two 220mm bass drivers. The upper bass unit is a sealed type providing very fast, transient bass response. The lower driver is loaded in it's own enclosure by means of a carefully tuned quad reflex design. Four specially selected tuned resonant "ports" are carefully positioned in the cabinet to provide smooth and extended bass response to below 30Hz. All of the drivers are mounted in their own separate enclosures to eliminate the possibility of driver interaction. The cabinet is heavily damped internally with acoustic absorbing materials placed with the aid of computer modelling for maximum effect. The cabinet is also extensively cross braced with individual wooden "bars". These are shaped to minimise the possibility of interaction with sound waves travellling inside the enclosure. Hardened steel spikes are also provided with every loudspeaker which are secured to the cabinet by means of integral steel threaded inserts. The loudspeaker is wired internally with heavy gauge low loss silver plated cable and provided with high quality gold plated dual terminals suitable for bi-wiring or passive bi-amplification. |

Black Pearl Monitors - These little gems deliver truly awesome transparency and depth. A special feature of these monitors is the introduction of a 104mm rear firing tweeter which produces a reverberant field with excellent deep and solid soundstaging qualities, like that found in a real concert hall. The high complexity crossover achieves near perfect preservation of the shape of complex wave forms. This helps create a very accurate response through all frequencies. The front baffle houses a very powerful 160mm bass/midrange driver which is a feature throughout the Gemstone Range and a 94mm tweeter both delivering amazing clarity in the mid to upper ranges with astounding bass timbre. This three driver two way design is housed in a cabinet that is extensively braced internally up to a depth of 40mm, the cabinet is hand crafted in a high gloss finish of your choice. Very attractive acoustic stands complete the presentation of these handsome little gems. |

Onyx Centre Channel - The Onyx has been introduced to further enhance a two channel system and improve the quality of pure imaging and depth to a sound system, and is also a high quality addition to home theatre applications. Similar to the very popular Opal loudspeakers the Onyx is a two way, three driver design. Treated with diffraction controlling felt, the tweeter is time collimated. The crossover is a first order type which guarantees a smooth and flat phase and amplitude response. Two 160mm bass/midrange drivers ensure compatible and accurate sonic output from the high to very low frequencies. The Onyx cabinet finish is in standard texture black, or alternative timber veneer as an optional extra. |
